Hey friends! Welcome back to my blog! Today I'm going to share my thoughts on the Urban Skin Rx products that I have tried. Let's just jump right into it.

THE ENTIRE SITE is currently 20% OFF for the Memorial Day! Shop here.

Urban Skin Rx is a brand that is specifically designed to help treat melanin skin and correct common
skin concerns such as: acne, aging, hyper pigmentation, etc.

I've tried a few different products from the brand and today I'm going to share what I think about them.

- Even Tone Cleansing Bar -

My first impression of this product: I really thought it was going to be in a 'bar' form haha.. call me crazy but I expected a small bar of soap in the container. But instead it contains the product only inside. Suggested use tells you to wet your face and then use the supplied sponge to gently wet and cleanse the skin. The Even Tone Cleansing bar is a 3-in-1 - due to the type of sponge. It is meant to cleanse and gently exfoliate the skin to get rid of extra dead skin cells and help clarify skin. It works as a cleanser, mask, and exfoliator.

Why I like it:

I love the ingredients in this product and I honestly feel that it does help to brighten the skin. It contains licorice root and kojic acid which are two ingredients that help to break up clusters of pigmentation. This cleanser is perfect for skin that is experiencing hyper pigmentation, dark spots, or uneven skin tone. I also am very pleased with the price. I think this whole brand is affordable and easily accessible.

Cost?
The Even Tone Cleansing Bar comes in two sizes: 2.0 oz ($15)  and 3.7 oz. ($24). These products are easily accessible and are sold at Target, Ulta Beauty (online & in - store), and on brand website. Shop here:

Cons:

As much as I love this product, I dislike the fact that I have to use a sponge to apply the cleanser to my face. It feels unsanitary and messy. I would prefer my cleanser to be in liquid form for application. The smell isn't the best either. Also be aware that the color can change due to water and air.

- Pumpkin Pore Detox Mask & Scrub -

My first impression of this product: First things, first.. this is my new fav scrub/mask! It's a dual action mask and scrub that contains detoxifying clay as well as pumpkin enzymes.
I use it a lot at work on my clients. The pumpkin enzymes work to gently exfoliate and resurface the skin to get rid of pigmentation. It SMELLS good too.. like a cinnamon wonderland. haha. I love that it warms up on the skin and my clients love that part the most.

Cost?

The Pumpkin Pore Detox Mask & Scrub retails for $36 for 6oz. Also can be found at Ulta Beauty, Target, and online. Shop here!

Cons:

It could be a little tough to get off so I suggest using a warm towel for removal.

- Even Tone Glow Serum -

My first impression of this product: When I apply this serum It immediately brightens the skin. This serum is meant to brighten the skin, treat dark spots/pigmentations, sun damage, and fine lines and wrinkles.

Cons:

Upon first few applications I noticed a little tingly/stinging sensation that I didn't care for too much. So I put it away. Last week, I brought it back out to try and I still have the stinging sensation but not as much as before so I'm not sure if my skin was a little sensitive at the time. If you have sensitive skin, you want to be mindful of that. Also it says it's not suitable for you if you are pregnant or nursing.. I read this AFTER use.. haha. So i'm going to discontinue personal use until I'm done nursing. (I wanted to add that in)

Cost:

It is .5 fl oz is $26. It is currently SOLD OUT on the website but still in stock at Ulta Beauty.
