Hey friends welcome back to my blog! I've gotten several request to talk about Vitamin C and the benefits for your skin, so we're gonna cover it in today's post! Thank you so much for stopping by.

Vitamin C also known, as ascorbic acid is an antioxidant that helps to treat free radical (sun) damage in the skin. It also helps to produce collagen by thickening the dermis layer of the skin, smoothing fine lines, and firming the skin so it looks younger, tighter, and brighter!

Vitamin C is a vitamin that can not be created by the body! You have to ingest it through your body or apply topical treatments. It is essential to help repair tissues in the skin and encourages healthy skin cell turnover. It is so beneficial to the skin because it can aid in treating dark spots/hyper-pigmentation by discouraging melanin production and evens out the skin tone.

It it best to apply Vitamin C serums in the morning after cleansing and toning the skin. This will work with your moisturizer to strengthen and protect the barrier of the skin.

Sunday Riley Vitamin C 15% Brightening Serum - is my favorite Vitamin C serum! I love the creamy texture - it is fat/oil soluble so it penetrates the skin effectively and absorbs so well. It helps to treat dark spots, the texture of the skin, and boosts radiance in the skin. When using this serum I see results within 1-2 weeks.  Shop here!

Also, wanted to mention an affordable serum option as well because I know the Sunday Riley serum is pretty pricey. (It's worth it though) However, the Paula's Choice C15 Super Booster is an amazing concentrated booster that has Ferulic Acid which maximizes the effects of the Vitamin C benefits.

I love Face Oils! Sunday Riley CEO Glow Vitamin C - Tumeric Face Oil - This face oil contains vitamin c, turmeric, and prime rose oil to help brighten and hydrate the skin. Tumeric helps to calm inflammation and irritations which are both common in skin that contains dark spots. Shop here!

I love the Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel because it is an enzyme gel- to- peel exfoliator that sloughs off dead skin cells revealing smooth, even skin. It's so gentle on the skin and can be used often. Shop here!

One of my favorite cleansers is the, Clinique Fresh Pressed Renewing Powder Cleanser - this powder cleanser is so awesome and I really feel like it brightens the skin after first application. It is water activated. It contains Vitamin C at 10% and it helps to clarify, purify, brightens the skin. Shop here!
