Hey friends! Welcome back to my blog.

Today I’m here to bust a really common MYTH, that if you choose to do hair removal or dermaplanning that your facial/body hair will grow back darker and thicker.

This is simply not true. I think the reasoning behind this comes from just actually being able to see the hair follicle leave the skin and then seeing it grow back. If you have never seen this process before sometimes it can lead you to  think that the hair looks much darker or thicker but that is not the case -you just notice it now.

Dermaplaning is the process of removing the vellum hair (peach fuzz) on the face along with dead skin cells to allow the skin to feel and appear smoother and brighter. This process does not make your hair grow back thicker or darker and neither does hair removal. When the hair is removed it actually takes about a month for hair to reach it’s full length again and in this process before it is exposed to dirt, oil, debris, soaps, lotions, etc.. it can appear darker and feel more coarse. It is new hair but I promise you, if that is the case it won’t have lasting effects.

Schedule either desired services and rest assured that your hair will color and texture will remain the same if not get better…
