What is Retinol???

Hey friends! Welcome back to my blog.

Today we’re talking about Retinol and what it’s used for in your skin routines.

Retinol is also called Vitamin A. It helps to treat fine lines and wrinkles by boosting elastin and collagen in the skin. It also helps to stimulate skin cell turnover to reveal clear, even, skin. It’s usually in a serum or cream formula for skin care.

Sometimes people think Retinol is just to treat aging skin but it actually can help treat acne, discoloration/pigmentation, and the overall look and texture of the skin, and of course fine lines/wrinkles.

Where to use Retinol is your skincare routine? It is best to use retinol at night because it breaks down on the skin during the day and usually high in potency. Of course, it is imperative to use sun protection daily when using Retinol because it makes our skin more sensitive to the sun’s UVA/UVB rays.

Retinol products:

Paula’s Choice 1% Retinol Treatment: I love the price point on this one and the current one I’m using. It is a light lotion, potent consistency, that applies easily and doesn’t irritate the skin. Shop here

Drunk Elephant A-Passioni Retinol: This one is also a goodie! It’s formulated to be gentle but effective on the skin as well. This one is more creamy in texture. Shop here

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!

Will you include Retinol in your night time skin care routine?
